Browser follies
It’s not on the Famblee-site; yaz all would go ballistic.
I fly stuff on the blog configured for Internet-Explorer, although it appears IE doesn’t muck up a picture-table if it’s narrow enough.
If the picture is full column width, IE will shove text into my profile section, next to the picture.
So I fly a full-width picture as a blog-insert, not in an HTML table.
That way IE doesn’t shove text up next to the HTML picture-table.
But if the picture is narrow enough (a vertical), IE doesn’t muck it up (or so it appears — the test is Linda’s IE).
This blog-site wants FireFox (“Fox-Fire”) to do anything — won’t even work with Internet-Explorer.
But by not uploading the full-width HTML picture-table, I make it so Granny can read the blog with her vaunted IE.
People are set in their ways. People seem to think the key to ‘pyooter-use is Microsoft; which means Internet-Explorer.
They aren’t willing to try superior browsers, like FireFox.
But FireFox and Internet-Explorer display differently.
FireFox puts a thin border around the picture-table and Internet-Explorer doesn’t.
Viewed with FireFox, story-text merges right into that border; and with no picture-table border under IE, I don’t get that visually on Linda’s PC with IE.
This only happens with a picture in an HTML picture-table (a narrow picture). If I fly the pik as a column-width blog-pik (so IE won’t muck it up), I don’t get that — no picture-table, no border.
There’s probably some way of offsetting my text-wraps, so they don’t merge into a table-border, but since I don’t fly a picture-table often on my blog, it ain’t worth figuring out.
