Reflections (3/7/07)

  • Today (Wednesday, March 7, 2007), while approaching the vaunted Canandaigua YMCA, “Amazon-Lady” came out the door as we approached. I wasn’t watching, but apparently Linda smiled at her as she passed.
Lo and behold, she smiled back; apparently a fleeting nanosecond, but enough for Linda to notice — although I didn’t notice.
    Linda was flat amazed.
(Also worth noting is that “Amazon-Lady” apparently came back in, wincing and gritting her teeth on the machines. She said a few words to another girl who looks a bit muscley who addressed her as “Mom.”
HMMMMMMMNNNNNNN....... Daughter looks a lot more alluring than Amazon-Lady. Amazon-Lady appears to be in her 40s, so probably has a grown-up daughter.
Daddy is probably long-gone; but ya never know.)
  • At the Canandaigua Weggers afterward, we bought a few things, including bananas.
“Wow,” the checkout girl said. “Thems are the biggest bananas I’ve ever seen! How can ya eat such a thing in one sitting?
The thought came to mind: “No wussy bananas in Man-Land;” but we never said it.
I don’t think the girl would have understood.
The onliest place such things can get said, and understood, is this here famblee-site.

  • “Linda” is my wife.
  • Amazon-Lady” is a muscle-bound YMCA employee.
