I’ll take you out Buddy!
“Our mailbox is deluged with political mailings.
Why look at this,” I said.
“Another letter from Senator Nozzolio. I don’t think we’ve heard from him since last election.”
Maybe we have, once or twice; but now we seem to be getting a letter every week.
With postage paid by the N.Y. State Senate.
Hmmmnnnn; does that mean us?
I’m not sure we should even be getting some of this stuff.
We live in West Bloomfield, yet our mail comes from the Bloomfield post-office.
Bloomfield and West Bloomfield are different districts; yet we even get stuff for Monroe County.
We vote, but it’s hard to keep track. Every election is see who we’re voting for.
We keep getting stuff for David Nachbar.
He loudly claims he’s not a politician.
Um, I hate to be a pest, but if you’re running for political office..... You fill in the blanks.
And I don’t think we’re even Nachbar’s district.
And before the primary were 89 bazilyun mailings for the 89 bazilyun possibles running to be Attorney General candidate on the Democratic line.
Thankfully that was decided.
But now our mailbox is sagging under the weight of pre-election mailings.
And then there’s the comedy of our state governor’s race.
I never can forget Andrew Cuomo’s (“koo-OH-moe”) outburst on visiting nearby Geneva.
“Here we are next to scenic Lake Geneva.”
Uh Andy; it’s Seneca Lake.
And then there’s Carl Paladino loudly claiming he’ll run N.Y. like a business.
Carl, you can’t be a dictator.
There are constitutional limits on your power.
You’ll have to work with the opposition, which involves give-and-take and compromise; the antithesis of on-high business decisions.
Take that silly donnybrook between Paladino and reporter Fred Dicker.
Don’t give Carl a gun; he might shoot his opposition.
Of course that seems to be what America wants.
Theater!
Maybe everyone should campaign with exploding fireballs and JumboTrons.
And arm Paladino with a bazooka.
• “I’ll take you out Buddy!” is what Republican governor candidate Carl Paladino said to reporter Fred Dicker.
• My wife of almost 43 years is “Linda.”
• “Mike Nozzolio” (Nuh-ZOLE-eee-oh”) is our New York State Senator (N.Y. as opposed to U.S.).
• We live in “Ontario” County; Monroe County is adjacent, what Rochester is in.
• “Andrew Cuomo” is a son of Mario Cuomo, the 52nd N.Y. State Governor (1983/1994). Andrew was previously NY state Attorney General.
• “Geneva” is a small city about 30-35 miles east of where we live. It’s at the north end of Seneca Lake, a long Finger-lake. (The Finger Lakes are a series of north-south lakes in Central New York that look like the imprint of a large hand. The were formed by the receding glacier.)
